Trees in Sprout

Week 34

Some random facts from this pregnancy. First trimester I craved spicy food, I could not get enough of green chili, especially the kind at work and specifically over a breakfast burrito. Second trimester I craved chocolate and Milky Ways were my favorite. Third trimester has been marked by heartburn. Some days I eat enough tums to fill my daily quota for calcium. I am most thankful that I have not thrown up once (cross my fingers and knock on wood).  I am still able to work right now though I move much slower than I used to. I still have my ankles and have figured out how to position all my pillows so I can sleep most nights.

I feel so blessed by all my friends and family who have spoiled us and baby girl with their generosity. We can't wait to meet this little one and see what she looks like and watch her little personality grow. She is getting so big that I feel every little movement. She often sticks out her entire back on my right side and my stomach looks completely lopsided. She has started to kick her foot out on the left side a lot too. Can't believe how fast the last 8 months have gone and how fast the next month will go.

Trees In Sprout

So I am officially 24 weeks now! Wow time seems to go by faster now that I count everything in weeks. Baby girl is growing like crazy and makes me hungry all the time. Right now I am craving anything chocolate and am learning less is more for how much I eat. This week baby girl is learning how to coordinate all of the important things like breathing, heart rhythm and kidney function. She also has more taste buds now than when she is born. She can taste the difference in the food I eat and lets me know if she likes it or not. By the end of the month she will have doubled her weight from last month! Her ears are forming and she can hear lower sounds better than high pitched ones. Last night she was like a jumping bean listening to music with us! Little girl likes to kick and move, I think she even gets the hiccups on occasion. Can't wait for the next few months so we can meet this little girl.

main bathroom project

Here are some pics of the updated main bathroom. My mother-in-law and I worked on it over a couple weekends. One we spent organizing the linen closet and the other painting. It looks so much better than the original peach color they had. I even spray painted the towel racks to complete the look.

Lord I Thank Thee

Our small group has been reading a book called "The Good and Beautiful GOD" by James Bryan Smith. One of the things Smith asks us to do is take time to count my blessings. So I wanted to take the time to share some of the things I am extremely thankful for in my life.

- my amazing husband who is so patient with me and loves me unconditionally
- living in a state that has all four seasons. I love this time of year when summer gives way to fall, the leaves changing and cool nights. Such a blessing to live here
- a little one who is kicking and moving more everyday. So fun and crazy to feel her little feet and hands and she moves around
- a new candy shop in town we are so excited to take Ayden too. All the makings of an excited little boy and getting to share some of our favorite candy with him from our childhood.

Just a few of the many things I am thankful for.

Our Summer

Here are some pictures of our summer with Ayden. We were able to spend and whole month with him and enjoyed some time with the Arizona cousins too. We went to Grand Lake and spend time at the Catlett cabin. We played at parks, went to Dave & Buster's, did lots of swimming and some hiking.

Baby Woods is...

We are delighted to announce that we are having a little girl! Official due date it still January 15th.

The Ultrasound was so fun. Little one had her foot up by her head when we started, so amazing to think they are that flexible. The ultrasound was at 8 am and she was still a little sleepy, even had her arms over her face at one point. We even got to see her when she had the hiccups :) So cute to watch her whole body move each time. Everything looks great and she is growing right on track weighing in at 11 ounces! Amazing to think she is halfway to being here with us.

Welcome to the Adventure!
I know several people who blog and it is such a great way to keep up with them and their life when they live far away. So I decided I would create a blog when we got pregnant so I could share some of our everyday with family who live far away. And here I go off on the adventure of blogging and soon on the adventure of having a newborn. Welcome to life with the Woods'!
